Well, we’re all getting settled into whatever our daily grind may be, recovering from the holiday weekend and the travel and (probable) overeating that comes with such a weekend. Some of you may be thinking, "Thanksgiving is just over two months away . . . I wonder if I can start using my sick days to get a little extra time in between . . ." Others may be thinking, "Oh crap! I missed David Robinson’s latest show that took place over the holiday weekend!" Even others may be thinking, "Oh crap! I was AT David Robinson’s latest show . . . " This message is not for the third group. Nor is it for the timid. Because David Robinson is going to be performing THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!! "WHERE?!?! WHEN?!?!" you may be asking yourself. I’m glad you asked, because the answer you seek is Comedy Union Comedy Club – THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th at 7:30PM. Located just west of the scenic intersection of PICO & LA BREA, you can find COMEDY UNION at 5040 W. PICO BLVD, just down the street from Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. FREE PARKING located just across the street! "But hey, isn’t this Friday Rosh Hashana?" Sure it is. And what better way to celebrate the Jewish New Year than to go see a "Universal Rabbi" perform in a comedy show that’s run by a guy named Christian? Well, going by the literal translation of Jewish law, there are at least two better ways. Probably more. But, being in Los Angeles, this is going to have to do for now. Besides, Yom Kippur is coming up, and this is a great way to pad your list of sins as long as you’re going to be asking for absolution in about ten days. And at the low, low price of $8, skipping shul to see me perform is one of the more economical sins available in this town! If you’re not Jewish but you’re interested in sinning, you’ve got the rest of the weekend ahead of you! Now, as tends to happen at these shows, there will be several other comics performing. One of these comedians will be my esteemed colleague in troublemaking, Mr. Jeremy "Jeremy" Levy! If you’ve seen Jeremy perform before, you know what a great deal this is, and if you don’t know Jeremy. . . well, have you asked yourself "why?" Now, when you get to the COMEDY UNION (for the 7:30 show this Friday at 5040 W. PICO BLVD, just down the street from Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles) they will ask you who you’ve come to see. If you know Jeremy, feel free to tell the person at the door that you’re there to see both of us and to count you towards whichever of us has less people. If you don’t know Jeremy, well, you can just tell them you’re there to see me. I'm not sure what time I'll be going on so show up early to get a good table and start drinking heavily.
